I had no idea about the particulars of the Bullitt. I should've looked at that dark green Mustang a little closer yesterday, because it was remarkably clear of the usual accoutrements. Hmm.
And I'd love to try out the burnouts and such, but am 1) afraid to turn off the traction control, and 2) don't want to have to buy new tires. Such a wimp! :)
If the one that you saw was the one that I have a picture of, it really was a V6 convertible. I don't think the 2001 Bullitt was available as a convertible.
As to the second part, the traction control really doesn't make any difference in everyday driving. Our Mustang doesn't have it. Tires aren't cheap, either: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?tireIndex=1&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2008&autoModel=Mustang+GT&autoModClar=Coupe&width=235/&ratio=50&diameter=18&sortCode=53900&skipOver=true&minSpeedRating=V&minLoadRating=S&tab=OE&filterType=oe

$708 a set. That's nasty.
So, not wanting to waste tires isn't wimpy. :)
ReplyDeleteI was referring to the Shelby traction control; I try to treat the Mustang rather gently. V6, and all that, you know.
ReplyDeleteAhh... that makes more sense. Shelby's traction control shouldn't intervene too quickly, though.
